The Problem

The site in question was a major bottling operation in Queensland, Australia, operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The problem was related to a series of small leaks that occurred from time to time under some of the facility equipment. The nature of the leaks meant that in order to meet the stringent Occupational Health and Safety regulations governing a site of this magnitude, every time a leak was discovered the entire production process had to be halted and the spill attended to, leading to a costly and time consuming delay in the production cycle.

The Sokerol Solution

Whenever a leak was detected, maintenance personnel would simply place or slide a pre-packaged Sokerol Absorbent Pillow under the leaking machinery. This very quick and simple solution was recommended by the Sokerol team and implemented throughout the plant, which lead to an immediate reduction in the amount of downtime at the facility.

The Pillows were safe to handle, convenient to manoeuvre and tremendously efficient in absorbing and containing the grease and oil leaks, until such time as the fault could be properly amended during the usual scheduled maintenance periods.

The Sokerol Pillow, provided a safe, fast and highly efficient solution to a costly OHAS problem, which lead to substantial savings by minimising lost productivity.
